Niels van Eijk & Miriam van der Lubbe
Niels Van Eijk and Miriam Van Der Lube started their design studio in 1998. They work individually but share one studio. They focus on product, interior and exhibition design.
Porcelain works in which the traditional floral patterns have been subtly transposed into contemporary objects such as headphones, and handbags that comment on gun armament, are some of the objects that they create in order to provoke discussion on social issues in the contemporary world. They feel that awareness and discussion is a good starting point to actually cause change.

Jurgen Bey
Born 1965 in The Netherlands, Jurgen Bey works on extensive projects from products to architecture and landscape design. One thing Jurgen does is investigate the context of the chair and its relationship to its users. Through the language of design, he creates stories that stem from the chair.
Cratecabinets are a series of products in which collected old pieces of furniture are combined, in search of new products and functions. A box is the protection for a piece of furniture during the transport. After transporting, the furniture can be taken out of the travelling box wherafter the two objects can lead separate lives. But they can also continue to exist together, as a new thing. If the box is fixed on top of the table after shipment, a totally new type of cabinet is born.

Heath Nash
I studied Fine Art at the University of Cape Town. I then started working with light once I left art school - eventually fi nding old plastic bottles and wire (a typical South African craft material) an inspiration for my range called 'other people's rubbish'.
My work is exploratory - I try to explore and investigate materials for what they are. I love the nature of synthetic plastic bottles, and their relationship to light. I am also very interested in using age-old craft techniques to make contemporary objects. I have tended to use limitation as a tool in my work - by limiting myself to a specific material or technique for a period of time, I have found new and interesting ways to use that material.

Vintage Plant
Vintage Plant, initiated by Byggstudio in Copenhergen, May 2006, is a network of second-hand plants and their life stories. We trade and exchange plants with history through markets held in different cities and countries. Each plant in the network is registered and presented in a web archive, www.vintageplant.net, where you can read about their past lives, owners, moves, health conditions etc. Many plants have
survived half a century or more and some have actually been through quite a lot - being thrown at ex-girlfriends in heavy fights or been moving through whole Scandinavia with a secret love affair in the baggage. In Europe house plants are natural part of our home interior. In difference to for example furniture the plants are living organisms, dependent on how their owners live and treat them. We seldom think of the plants as valuable, but they actually reflect our way of living and our family history by being passed on from generation to generation. Thus, the Vintage Plant project aims to give
the house plants some deserved recognition and is at the same time a way of telling the life stories of the people surrounding them.

An exhibition of tableware that is a bit divergent from the ordinary. For example, the designer takes the familiar form of a pintglass used in British pubs, and modifies it into a wineglass, an ashtray, or even a vase. This is her homage to the standard items of tableware we use in our daily lives.

Bamboo is attracting attention as a material with high environmental performance and rapid growth. However, the required efforts and high costs make it a difficult material to handle. So it is necessary to establish original know-hows that are distinct from wood working. "Laminated bamboo lumber project" is a project in which we investigate the many subjects concerning glued laminated bamboo, make use of the properties of the material, devise logical products, and use this resource in a proper way.

We Are Going Underground
We Are Going Underground is an 'underground' design event started in 2005 in Stockholm during the Stockholm Furniture Fair. We Are Going Underground will show at DesignTide's main exhibition site with all 8 Swedish designers. Participating designers are Konkret Form (Simon Anund and Kristian Nilsson), Thomas Bernstrand, TAF(Mattias Stahlbom and Gabriella Gustafson), Matti Klenell, Peter Andersson and Albin Karlsson.
We decided to call our exhibition “We Are Going Underground” for two main reasons: 1. In Stockholm we have always shown our concept under the city surface, in under ground spaces such as garages or old empty spaces that no one seems to take notice about, although they are located in the city core. 2. We are working in an independent / underground way when it comes to curating exhibitions in Stockholm.
One of the unique points with We are Going Underground is that we are a group of designers and artists who work together to create an event that constantly challenges the design climate in Stockholm and Sweden.
