今年の会場構成を手掛ける織咲誠氏による会場構成のコンセプトをお伝えします。

「ゆるいわく」── outlining
それぞれの個性がありながらも「ゆるくまとめる」こと。
競演でありながら協演。際立つ個性をひとつの雰囲気として全体でパッケージして伝わることを考えた。
枠は存在が希薄なほどよく透明や白に近いイメージを求めた結果、「包む」＝ 空気緩衝材の透過性。まとめる＝樹の下で集う。または森。
視覚認識的に、樹は”見慣れたもの”なので、すぐに無意識下に行きやすい効果を期待して、
主役を引き立てる脇役に向いている。作品や来場者は木立の森の中で語らうイメージが浮かび上がった。


We share the concept of design of main venue by Makoto Orisaki.

For “Outlining”, we collect unique products that are gathered within a loosely set framework. The exhibition is a competition as well as a collaboration among the products. Each of them keeps strong characteristics in the well designed atmosphere of the exhibition. The framework of the exhibition is intentionally subtle, functioning as if it were bubblewrap covering and protecting everything. It will give the visitors the impression of gathering under a tree or even a forest. Since trees are such familiar objects – so much so that people’s minds can register them unconsciously – we believe that they can serve as the best framework for an exhibition. In the end, the foreground as well as the visitors will be the “products” of the exhibition; and everything and everyone will be interacting under the trees.

本日〜17日までの3日間、名村造船所跡地/クリエイティブセンター大阪にてDESIGNEAST 03が開催されます。
DESIGNEAST は、「大阪に、国際水準のデザインが生まれる状況をデザインする」べく、2009年に大阪を拠点に活動する若手デザイナーが発起人となってスタートしたプロジェクト。
会場ではトークやワークショップ、エキシビションに加えて、マルシェやバーなども登場し、「デザインする状況のデザイン」が起こります。
今年のテーマは「状況との対話」。この場でさまざまな人が出会い、対話する状況がつくり出されます。

今年のメイン会場の会場デザインを手掛けるのは、インターデザインアーティスト・織咲誠氏に決定しました。

領域を超えた活動の中で、独自の観点からデザインの力を信じ、その普遍的な価値の思索、提案、実践をもって社会に貢献しようとする真摯な意欲を貫く織咲氏が、デザインタイド トーキョーという場で、どんな思索をめぐらし、提案を投げかけ、実践されるのか。デザインタイド トーキョーにとってもまた新しい実験的かつ挑戦的な取り組みです。大学という教育機関をパートナーとする試みが、そのスタートでもあります。

織咲氏の思索は、すでに大きく動きはじめています。

[織咲誠プロフィール]
インターデザインアーティスト。マコト・オリサキ インターワークス研究所代表。1965年埼玉県生まれ。桑沢デザイン研究所卒業。「モノを減らす方法」「自然力を取り込む知恵」の思索と提案、「物質量やコストによらない」利を得るクリエイティブの提唱と実践をしている。「Hole Works」：思考の問掛け、「Line Works」：“結びつきの関係”のリサーチと実践といった思想からうまれる形は世界で特許登録され、数々の製品として世に出つつある 。1998-99年「Hole Works」個展（英国ハビタ） / 2000年「Re Design」展参加/ 2002年「ファイル展」/2004年「FILING展」/2005年「BRAUN展」企画・構成、ディレクション/「URBANART＃1」 大賞、審査員賞、第14回桑沢賞などを受賞。


The design of the main venue of DESIGNTIDE TOKYO has always been one of the highlights of our event.

For this year, Makoto Orisaki whom describes himself as an “inter-design artist” has commissioned to design the main venue.

Through Orisaki’s activities transcending genres, trusting design from a distinctive point of view, at DESIGNTIDE TOKYO we will witness a proposal full of earnest attempts by the designer to contribute to the society by exploring and practicing the universal values of design. This year will also be an experimental and challenging project for DESIGNTIDE TOKYO.  A partnership with the educational institution is one of the new starts.

His dynamic exploration is already starting.

[Makoto Orisaki Profile]
Inter-design artist. Born 1965 in Saitama. After graduating from Kuwasawa Design School, he founded Makoto Orisaki Interworks Lab. Orisaki explores and proposes ways to reduce things and the wisdom of harnessing nature. He also advocates and practises creativity that brings benefits, independently of resources and cost. The forms generated from these concepts have been patented throughout the world and are gradually being distributed as products. “Hole Works” is a question of thought and “Line Works” is a research and practice about “the interrelation of connections”. His recent activities include ”Hole Works”, an exhibition at Habitat in UK (1998-98), participation in “Re
Design” exhibition (2000), planning, organisation and direction of exhibitions including “FILING” (2002 / 2004) and “BRAUN” (2005). He has won the grand prize and jury prize at  “URBANART #1,” the 14th Kuwasawa Award and other awards.

DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2011で発表された家具レーベル「see-saw」のショールーム/ショップが大阪・南堀江にオープン。「see-saw」は、東大阪の木工工房・LAUGHがクリエイターたちとともにプロダクト提案を行う家具レーベルとして2011年に立ち上げました。同スペース内にはLAUGHが運営するヘアサロンもオープンします。

アートディレクター・尾原史和氏の書籍『デザインの手がかり』が発売中です。この刊行を記念して、尾原氏と、書中での対話にも登場するBACHの幅允孝氏、E&Yの松澤剛氏との座談会が大阪のスタンダードブックストア心斎橋にて開催されます。デザインタイド トーキョーのディレクションメンバーでもある３名の対話です。

ミラノサローネ期間中に発表されるスウェーデンのコンストファック国立芸術工芸デザイン大学の学生達による展示で、昨年のTIDE TABLEに出演くださったストックホルム在住の横山いくこさんがキュレーションを担当されています。個人化が進み不確かさの中で生きる状況を「liquid society」（＝流動的社会）と例えられる今の社会におけるデザインを学生達が考えるプロジェクト。

2008年よりミラノサローネに出展しているキャノンのインスタレーションに中村竜治氏が参加。インスタレーションは、クリエイターたちの創造力とキャノンの最先端のデジタルイメージング技術力により、森林の神秘性や生命の躍動感が表現されるもの。中村氏は映像アーティストの志村信裕氏と作品を制作。ピアノ線を格子状に組んだ縦8m×横5m×高さ2mの構造物に、森に生息する生命をモチーフとした映像が透写され、来場者に森林の朝霧のように浮かび上がる映像を様々な角度から体験させる。

メディアプロデューサー・笹生八穂子氏とのユニット・Passing On Projectで、インスタレーションを発表。「灯り」と「人」のコミュニケーションを通じて「喜び」を生み出す。
